The Wurmberg by foot

Our tip:

A sporty tour on Lower Saxony's highest mountain.

Mountain stream, fabulous forests, rocky ascents, historical insights, great views - that's the Wurmberg adventure on foot.

forest in changing

Construction site nature!

Why do dead trees not herald the end of the forest, but the beginning of the new forest wilderness ?! Extensive forests in transition to wilderness, valuable habitats for rare animals and plants - nature is allowed to go its own way in the Harz National Park. Gray wooden frames of dead old spruce trees dominate the landscape and are shocking to numerous locals and guests. Many worry about the forest and ask questions about its condition.
