Once upon a time...

Hear exciting stories about the place Braunlage and learn how skiing came to the Harz!

Our extensive collection on the history of winter sports in the Harz region has even led to our museum being recognized as an FIS Ski Museum (FIS = "Fédération Internationale de Ski) by the International Ski Federation.
It is thanks to chief forester Artur Ullrichs that Braunlage today is the leading winter sports resort in the Harz mountains, that three modern ski jumps are available in summer and winter, and that the WSV-Braunlage has still been very active in Braunlage since 1892.
