Spend a fantastic skiing holiday in the middle of the Harz mountains. Alpine skiing and snowboarding are just two of the many winter sports and winter holidays on offer in our three towns of Braunlage, Hohegeiß and St. Andreasberg. Wurmberg Ski Area


The 971-metre-high Wurmberg is the largest alpine ski centre in the Harz Mountains and offers six lifts and a total of 13 km of partly groomed slopes. The longest of the 12 pistes is 4.3 km long and 405 metres in altitude downhill to Braunlage, making it Germany's longest ski run north of the Alps.

Hasselkopf downhill ski run

 

The Hasselkopf slope is located just before the southern end of Braunlage, with the valley station on the main entrance and exit road (Tannerstraße). The slope is ideal for beginners and families with small children or for tobogganing.

Ski area at the town hall

 

When it has been announced the popular night floodlight run takes place at the ski meadow by the town hall on Fridays from 19.00 - 21.00 hrs. The valley station is only a few minutes' walk from the town centre. Not only do beginners get their money's worth, in addition to a beginners' and children's ski school, there will also be stalls to provide refreshments and warm drinks. Skiers, snowboarders and tobogganers can have fun and let off steam to their heart's content.

Sonnenberg Ski Resort

 

The Große Sonnenberg with an altitude of 870 metres offers good winter sports opportunities and a fairly high snow guarantee. Three T-bar lifts, a pony lift and slopes with various degrees of difficulty are available. For snowboarders and trick skiers, a well-equipped fun park ("White-Rabbit-Park", formerly Sonnenblick) with boxes, rails and kickers is open.

Matthias-Schmidt-Berg Ski Resort


Matthias-Schmidt-Berg, the inner-city ski area of St. Andreasberg awaits all ski guests. With a piste length of approx. 10 km and a piste area of just under 25 ha, every guest - whether beginner or professional - can be offered the right skiing terrain. 2 chairlifts and 2 T-bar lifts ensure fast transport up the mountain.  Technical snowmaking and regular floodlit-skiing allows for long hours of skiing fun.
