The WaldWandelWeg at Schubenstein near Torfhaus shows on 180 meters length with short information panels what the Harz forest of the future could look like.

In the Harz National Park, formerly managed forests are turning into natural and structurally rich forests with different tree species in various age stages. Windthrow, insect infestation, and the natural death of trees are opportunities for a new, near-natural forest. Wilderness is returning.

The path to the WaldWandelWeg is suitable for strollers, the 180-meter-long WaldWandelWeg itself is not. However, there is the possibility to leave the stroller there.
