General information

Directions

The starting point is the market square in Wernigerode. We walk past the town hall on the left, along Marktstraße, the Zillierbach stream, past the "Schöne Ecke" towards the outskirts. At the end of the "Promenade" we can make a detour to the left to the worth-seeing "Theobald Chapel." Otherwise, we keep to the right along the Ewaldweg, Pulvergarten, Am Vogelsang until we can cross federal road 244 via a small bridge to the left. From here, we follow the "Voigtstieg" path through the forest always uphill. Straight through the "Hartenberg" settlement. Shortly before the country road (K1347) between Elbingerode and Heimburg, we reach the "Dreiherrenstein."

After crossing the country road, we go straight ahead. The main path makes a left curve - but we continue straight ahead on a smaller forest path. At a T-junction, we turn right. The path then leads through an elongated valley and over a high plateau directly to Elbingerode. In town, we walk via the streets "Bleichenkopf," "Wolfshagen," "Steinweg" to our destination, the market.
