General information

Directions

The starting point is the market square in Wernigerode. We go left past the town hall, along Marktstrasse, along the Zillierbach, past the "Schoene Ecke" out of town. At the end of the "Promenade" we can make a detour to the left to the "Theobaldi Chapel", which is well worth seeing. Otherwise we keep right along the Ewaldsweg, Pulvergarten, Am Vogelsang until we can cross the federal road 244 on the left over a small bridge. From here we follow the "Voigtstieg" path through the forest uphill. Straight ahead through the "Hartenberg" settlement. Shortly before the country road (K1347) between Elbingerode and Heimburg we reach the "Dreiherrenstein".

After crossing the country road, we go straight ahead. The main path makes a left turn - but we continue straight ahead on a smaller forest path. At a T-junction we turn right. The path then continues through a long valley and over a plateau directly to Elbingerode. In the city we walk along the streets "Bleichenkopf", "Wolfshagen", "Steinweg" to our destination, the market.
