best season

7.8 kilometer long hike from Oderbrück via the Kaiserweg, Kolonnenweg, and Goetheweg to the Brocken.

On one of the shortest paths to the highest peak of the Harz - the Brocken. The waymarked hiking trail starts at the Oderbrück car park and leads relatively gently ascending next to a stream through the forest. Following the 9D signs and the Kaiserweg, you reach the Dreieckiger Pfahl, the border between Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. On the Kolonnenweg it goes quite steeply on a cobblestone surface, which is also suitable for inexperienced hikers. Upon reaching the tracks of the Brockenbahn, the hike continues on the Goetheweg alongside the tracks up to the Brockenstraße. The entire trail is surrounded by varied nature and great views over the Harz.
