General information

Directions

The hiking trail begins at the end of Burgstraße. The first section is a bit steeper but easy to walk and takes you up the Burgberg. You will reach a junction where you keep left and continue to ascend with a view of the forested mountain peaks. At the next junction is the Säperstelle with the stamp point 121 of the Harzer Wandernadel. This spot is perfect for a picnic after the ascent. From here it goes only gently and noticeably uphill towards Rabenklippen. You continue straight ahead, always accompanied by a wonderful panoramic view. You are in the Harz National Park, so keeping dogs on a leash is a matter of course. You will soon reach the lynx enclosure at Rabenklippen. Here the lynx feeding takes place every Wednesday and Saturday at 2:30 pm (all year round). A place to stop right in the rocks offers you food and drinks. Well-developed forest paths lead on; you always follow the signposts with the lynx head. The paths offer you views into the beautiful Harz forests and mountain peaks until you walk the last stretch through dense forest before reaching the Cross of the German East, from where you have a magnificent view over Bad Harzburg.
